Sun Kings Pound Patroons in Game 1 of CBA Finals

ALBANY, NY - The visiting Yakama Sun Kings shot 60.8% from the floor to defeat the Albany Patroons, 113-99, in Game #1 of the 2007 CBA Finals. The Sun Kings lead the Best-of-3 series, 1-0. Game #2 will be Wednesday night in Albany with the teams traveling to Yakima for Game #3 on Friday. Games #4 and #5, if necessary, will also be played in the Yakima Valley SunDome.

The Sun Kings starting backcourt of Eddy Barlow and Ralph Holmes combined for 45 points and 10 rebounds to lead Yakama. Barlow hit 8-of-13 shots from the field and drained 7-of-8 free throw attempts en route to a game-high 25 points and grabbed three rebounds. Holmes made 8-of-12 shots and 3-of-4 free throws to score 20 points and pulled down seven boards to share team rebounding honors with Greg Stevenson. Galen Young added 19 points and dished out a team-high eight assists. Stevenson came off the bench to drop in 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting while Elvin Mims scored 11 points. The Sun Kings hit 45-of-74 field attempts while holding the Patroons to 44.0% (33-of-75) shooing. Yakama outrebounded Albany, 39-37, and had 16 assists to only 12 for the Patroons.
