Research Shows Test Scores are Linked to Families Income
Yakima, WASH - A recent study done by Washington State University shows that student test scores are related to their families income. The study shows that students with parents making more money, score higher on tests than students who come from a low income household. This is information that the Yakima School District has already known for some time. Superintendent Benjamin Soria says that families with low income can't afford day care services or other preschool activites that would develop a solid base for learning. With this happening, the school district has really pushed to strengthen their early childhood development program.
