Crime Stoppers Using New Strategy to Help Catch Criminals
Yakima, WA - Crime Stoppers used to broadcast exclusively with one media outlet in the Yakima Valley. Now, they'll be airing special public service announcements on multiple radio and television stations in the market.
An officer with the Yakima Police department will tell viewers about a recent crime in the community in the PSA. This approach differs from the past when Crime Stoppers only aired during a local news broadcast for a particular station.
"For television, we'll be airing these spots all throughout the day. Criminals, generally, are not watching the evening news," says Mark Petersen, President of Crime Stoppers.
