Baugher children touch down in Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Lars and Remi Baugher, allegedly taken by their father and rescued in Idaho City, Colorado, have arrived safely in Walla Walla.

Family members and friends were at the airport to welcome the children.  A federal agent escorted them from Denver to Washington state, along with the kids' mother.  The family was reunited late Thursday after the children were rescued in Idaho City, Colorado outside of Denver.

The children's father, John Baugher, remains in Clear Creek, Colorado in federal custody.  He has a court hearing scheduled for April 4th.

Both Lars and Remi appeared to be in good condition.  After stepping off the plane, both of them ran around on the tarmac before entering the airport with their escorts.  Remi, the older of the two, had her hair cut short.

"They looked different on the outside," said the children's great uncle.  "But you can't take the girly girl out of Remi."

Lars was wearing green pants.  Both of them appeared cheerful and happy to see the crowd that awaited them.
