Deadline for Studded Tires is Here

Posted: Updated:

Yakima, WASH - The Washington DOT says that studded tires have caused more than 18 million dollars in damage to roadways, which is why drivers can expect a 101 dollar ticket if caught with studs on after march 31st.   By getting your normal tires on today you can spare some cash by not paying a fine, but you can also save money by making your snow tires last longer.   Experts say that the longer you have your studs on in the warmer weather, the less effective they will be in the winter time.

If you missed the deadline today, Les Schwab says you can still expect to have some long waits as they will be changing out snow tires all week long for the late arrivals.
