YAKIMA, Wa - The DOT says it will soon begin transporting an expansion joint for the new Tacoma Narrows Bridge across the state along I-90.
The expansion joint weighs more than 350,000 lbs. The DOT stopped the truck that was hauling the expansion joint at the idaho border for fear it could seriously damage the interstate.
They have been building an extra large rig to haul it. This new truck will take up two lanes and travel at less than 15-miles hour.
DOT officials say they'll begin hauling it tomorrow.
If you want to track the truck's progress across the state, the DOT has set up a GPS tracker on the website attached to this story.
