Soldier on Leave Speaks About Debate in Congress to Fund Iraq War
YAKIMA, Wa - The debate over whether to continue funding the Iraq War is heating up in Washington, DC.
Meanwhile, several soldiers from the the 790th Chemical Company have returned home on leave. That includes Sergeant First Class Charlene Keroski who has been with her family in Yakima now for a few days.
She's watched some national news about the war and has noticed the growing resistance to it in congress. Her fear is that cutting funding could put soldiers in harms way.
"I feel we're over there, why not take care of us. Where's that going to leave the soldier?"
Sergeant Keroski also expressed concern that not enough positive news gets reported.
She heads back overseas in six days. She's in the middle of her second tour of duty in iraq.
