Yakima Co. Sheriff's Office Evacuated Due to Train Derailment
YAKIMA, Wash. - The Yakima County Sheriff's Office is now closed until Tuesday morning. A scheduled evacuation began at 2:30 pm Monday, due to a train derailment 1/3 mile away from the sheriff's office on S. 1st Street in Yakima. The train cars contain propane, and crews are working to get those cars back on the tracks right now. 911 calls to the sheriff's office, as well as business lines will be transferred to outside police facilities, but there may be delays.
