KENNEWICK, Wash. - Goalie Carey Price may not be in the NHL yet, but he has an NHL contract. The fifth overall pick in 2005 by Montreal reached a contract agreement with the Canadiens Monday.
Terms are not known, but the player picked right before him in 2005 got an $850,000 annual deal with Los Angeles.
The former Americans goalie will now go play for the Canadiens' top minor league team in Hamilton, Ontario. The Bulldogs are in the playoffs right now and could use him in goal. When the Montreal Candiens have training camp next season, Price will have a legitimate spot at making the team.
