PASCO, Wash. -- Don Imus' controversial comments about Rutgers' Women's Basketball team continue to cause waves across the nation.
Thursday, CBS delivered the final blow against Don Imus as the network fired him. But Pastor Abraham Francois of the Pasco Ephesus-7th Day Adventist Church says Imus' comments point to a larger problem in society.
He says it shows an attitude where negative remarks about women are accepted. He says all people, no matter their ethnic group or gender must be treated equally.
Francois says, "It's not okay because we're talking about our mothers, our wives, we're talking about our children. It's not okay to speak disparagingly about women period."
Francois says he wants to use Imus' remarks as an example of words that shouldn't be found in radio, music, or any other part of society.
