RICHLAND, Wash. - A traffic stop turned into a drug bust after Richland police reported finding a bag full of marijuana hidden inside the hood of a car.
It happened Saturday on the 500 block of Adams Street in Richland.
Police said the driver, Melvin Mcintosh was arrested for driving with a suspended license and the passenger, James Ballard had felony warrants for his arrest.
The two men were arrested and police said when they impounded the car one of the Richland officers allegedly smelled marijuana coming from the front hood of the car.
Police obtained a search warrant and found the drugs, an electronic scale and drug packaging material.
They also found weapons including a double-edged knife, metal-knuckles and a stun gun.
Police booked both men into Benton County Jail.
