Yakima, WA - Starting this morning the city of Yakima kicks off their annual fire hydrant testing. Over the next couple of months crews will be working all over city. The project is set to begin west of 32nd Avenue and the Gleed area. During the testing process you may experience rust-colored water. If you do, just keep running the water for a couple of seconds, it will eventually clear up. The city asks for your cooperation in cutting any plants or trees within three feet of fire hydrants located on personal property. That will make it easier for them to access the hydrants. The city expects the testing to be completed by the end of June.
