RICHLAND, Wash. - After six impressive seasons on the Richland bench, girls coach Cindy McCoy has resigned. She told KNDU of her decision Monday night, saying she wants to spend more time with her family.
"My last few summers have been spent at basketball clincs," she said. "I'm really looking forward to camping with my daughters."
McCoy went 121-37 during her six years at Richland, going 13-8 last season. "It was a very difficult decision. I feel honored to have coached at Richland."
Athletic Director Mike Edwards says a search will begin immediately. "We'll open it up, see what happens."
