KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Police say keeping track of all your sets of keys could keep your car from being stolen. So far in 2007, there has been good news for Kennewick car owners. Half as many cars have been stolen as in the end of 2006.
But as usual they say Hondas and Acuras, especially those with aftermarket parts, are the most likely to be stolen. Police do have advice about your keys that they say will help keep your car from being stolen.
Sgt. Ken Lattin says, "Be cautious of who has your keys. In a couple of these cases, it appears that the owners claim that they had the only set of keys and the keys were never lost but it appears keys were used in the ignition to drive it away." Kennewick police officers say just three weeks into April, they have seen just as many car thefts as they saw in all of March.
