FRESNO, Cal - The Tri-Cities Fever officially have their first win in the AF2!
The Fever defeated the Central Valley Coyotes 49-44. It was a tight ending to the game with the Fever turning the ball over and committing a costly pass interference penalty that gave the Coyotes a first down inside the 10.
But a great defensive effort by the Fever stopped the Coyotes in their tracks. With the Fever up by 5 points and the clock running down, the Coyotes driving to the end zone, phenomenal coverage by defensive back Muhammad Shamsid-Deen broke up a touchdown pass in the end zone to give the Fever the win.
It's the first win for the Fever in its new league, the af2. The Fever is 1-1 in the Pacific Conference after beating conference rival Central Valley. The overall record is 1-2.
