Yakima, WASH - Improvements may be coming to the Capitol Theater after the senate approves 27 million dollars for Yakima-area projects.
Among the changes could be outdoor cabaret and more festivals heading Yakima's way. Of the 27 million dollars passed by the senate the capitol theater expects to receive 5 to 7 million. Executives say they received money from a similar fund a couple of years ago, but it was used for up-keep of the 30 year old building.
The Theater says this is very much a community project as the city council will have to approve funding requests of the money passed for Yakima area projects. All plans are expected to be inplace by 2009.
