KENNEWICK, Wash.- A group of outdoor adventure writers makes a stop in the Tri-Cities area for their annual convention.
Most of the writers say when they first got here, they didn't think much, but after a couple of days they've fallen in love with the area.
The Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau is hosting the Northwest Outdoor Writers Association's 2007 conference.
About 30 writers are in town to explore the region.
They say after a couple days in town, they'd love to come back.
"We're having a great time. It's just a really nice area. We're impressed, all of us with the number of parks you have, the hiking opportunities. We haven't gotten to sample the fishing, but we can see it's here," said Dave Vedder.
The group will be here through the weekend.
The hope is that they go home and write good articles about the Columbia Basin that will encourage others to vacation here in the future.
