SEATTLE, Wash. -- The Mariner's were looking to to right their ship after a tough loss to the Royals Saturday night.
In the bottom of the 2nd, Jamie Burke came through for the M's with the RBI double off Brian Bannister. That scored Yuniesky Betancourt and the M's were up 1 to nothing. Now, all the M's had to do was hope for a little pitching.
And they got it from Cha Seung Baek. Baek went six and a third, allowing 4 hits and just one run. And that one Royal run didn't come until the top of the 7th on a Reggie Sanders broken-bat RBI single and the game was tied at 1 to 1
The M's got the game winner in the bottom half of the 7th. Willie Bloomquiest dropped in a 2-run double scoring Jose Guillen and Yuniesky Betancourt. Seattle was up 3 to 1.
The Mariners knocked out the Royals 5 to 1, evening their record at 10 and 10. They play the White Sox Tuesday at Safeco starting at 7:05.
