BOSTON, Mass. - Richland grad Travis Buck is proving to be Mr. Clutch for the Oakland A's. Tuesday night in Boston, he came through with yet another late-inning home run.
In the ninth inning, with his team trailing Boston 4-2, Buck homered on a Jonathan Papelbon offering, tying the game at 4. The A's went on to win 5-4 in 10 innings.
It was Buck's best day at the plate as a pro. He went 3-5, with the homer and 2 RBI. His average has dipped lately to just below .200, but he may have earned some more playing time with Tuesday's big performance.
After graduating from Richland High, the rightfielder played his college ball at Arizona State.
