Fever Face Their Original Quarterback

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash - If you remember way back before the AF2 season started you'll remember that the first quarterback the Fever ever signed was a guy named Evan Gray out of the University of Missouri-Rolla.  The Fever later signed Brian Baker who coach Wells knew would be his main guy, and gave Gray the opportunity to leave the team. Coach Wells' parting words were, "Don't beat us up too badly!"

Coach may soon regret letting Gray go!  Evan now plays for the Stockton Lightning, the Fever's opponent for this Saturday.  In his first start with the Lightning, Gray threw 7 touchdowns in just three quarters.  Coach says he wishes the best for Evan and adds that "there are no hard feelings, this is a business, we did what we had to do."  Of course, coach also noted that he's seen how well Gray has been playing and he hopes he doesn't beat up the Fever too bad!
