Charities Hit Jackpot with Legends Casino

Toppenish, WASH - A half of a percent of what the Legends Casino in Toppenish makes from slot machines and table games is a little over $200,000.  Monday night, that money was divided up between 97 charities in the upper and lower valley in the casino's 6th annual charity banquet.

Yakima resident Penny Johnston makes christmas stockings for children.  She received $1,000 from the casino to help her complete over 800 stalkings by the holiday season.

North Star Lodge Social Worker, Kay Maples says her organization will help cancer patients pay the high gas prices when commuting to treatments.

Over 200 people were invited to the banquet Monday and the casino says if you know of a charity in need, to contact Legends.
