KENNEWICK, Wash. - A Kennewick man was seen throwing a large plastic bag full of kittens in the canal near 8th Street and Alder in Kennewick.
A police officer witnessed the act and questioned the man. The man admitted to filling the bag with kittens.
The officer made the man retrieve the bag himself. Luckily all four kittens were still alive after floating in the canal for several minutes.
Police arrested the man, charged him with animal cruelty.
The case was handed over to the city attorney.
The kittens are now at the Benton Franklin Humane Society waiting adoption.
