Richland, WASH. -- Where in Washington? That was the question fourth graders across the state were asking today in a new project that combined geography and technology.
Teachers at Sacajawea Elementary School in Richland said the new project got students excited to learn about Washington State. By video conference, students watched other Washington 4th graders and wrote down clues about what city the students were presenting from. The clues covered everything from the nearest body of water, to the main industry, to the hottest tourist attraction. Teachers say it was great for students to learn in a new way.
After all the clues were presented, students across the state went to work researching where each group presented from. They used maps and the internet to put all the clues together.
