Pasco High Student Organizes Walk-A-Thon

PASCO, Wash. -- One Pasco High senior is taking a big step in the right direction. She organized her own Walk-A-Thon in hopes of helping people with diabetes.

Katie Hobson has passed out hundreds of these flyers as she tries to get people to come out and support the event.

Tonight, the Pasco soccer team dominated Edgar Brown Stadium but Saturday from 9-12 am Hobson hopes her Walk-A-Thon brings in the crowd

Dobson says her best friend and two grandpas deal with diabetes and she wants to raise awareness about the disease.

She hopes for their sake, Saturday's event is a success. Hobson says, "I want people to really participate and know that they are really helping anyone in need."

Besides raising awarenes for diabetes, Hobson is raising money for the Grace Clinic, a clinic that provides free medical services for people without insurance. Hobson is suggesting a $5 donation for each walker.
