AmberAlert.com Offers New Tool To Find Lost Children
KENNEWICK, Wash. - AmberAlert.com wants you to take advantage of a new tool designed to help find lost or abducted children.
They call it a Child I.D. Kit. It's a portable USB drive, parents can use to update and store information about their children.
If there's an emergency, parents can quickly hand it off to police.
Some officers think it's a good idea. They said often times people just aren't prepared.
"And all of the sudden it comes as a shock to 'em. The child didn't come home from school, or they were last scene in the playground and they call us frantic. And there's a lot of information law officers have to get right away," said Sgt. Scott Child, Kennewick Police Department.
Whether you buy the Child I.D. Kit or not, officers said it's a good idea to have updated information about your child on hand. You never know when you'll need it.
