KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Kennewick Police are giving property managers the tools to keep crime out of their properties and apartment complexes.
Police officers say they conitunally see the same crimes committed at these properties. Wednesday night's meeting at the United Way in Kennewick is meant to teach them the ways to avoid these crimes.
At the meeting, police say apartment owners will learn how to spot drug activity and how to make to use light to make properties more safe. Police say they often learn community problems they weren't aware of.
Police say the classes are already full and that each participant will complete 12 hours of training. Officers say since the classes started in 1999, they have seen crime drop dramatically at aparment complexes where managers had completed the classes.
