Yakima, WA - Almost all the reservoirs that serve the Yakima Valley are at full capacity.
A local farmer says it will definitely make the summer a lot less stressful. Usually, farmer have to deal with water and worker shortages.
The Bureau of Reclamation reports Kachess and Bumping Lakes are at full capacity. Cle Elum is at 98%. Keechelus is at 98% and Rick Rock at 92%.
All this water means farmers won't have to pump in extra water from underground wells, which costs them more money. For you and me, it means bigger fruit and better quality too.
Some folks emailed our station with concerns about flooding. We were told it would've been a bigger concern in March.
