Yakima, WA - Investigations by the Yakima Fire department lead them to believe several fires around the valley were started by the same person. Investigators are saying one of the major similarities between these fires is the use of what they call available fuel. In other words, the person who's lighting them finds something that's very flamable, like wood chips or garbage, and sets it on fire. The fire department also says location is a factor. Close to the fire, they think the same person is responsible for starting fires at an apartment complex, a garage, and a local Shopko twice. The Fire Department is asking people to keep an eye out for suspicious activity, and remove any flamable items from outside there homes.
