Some of the people we met today say there's a lot of opportunity in the U.S., making it universally appealing.
"There's been so many that have come here from other countries, ya know, to live the American dream, so i'm not surprised at all," said a West Richland resident.
"This is the United States of America...we accept everybody, so its not surprising to me," said one Pasco resident.
"There is lots of opportunity," said a Kennewick resident. Employment is growing, our industry and all the areas around. It's just so booming."
The Census Bureau also says that Hispanics remain the largest minority group. In July 2006, they accounted for almost 15% of the total U.S. population.
