Yakima, WA - If you're leaving town in the next couple of days, the Washington Department of Transportation says the best time to travel before noon. They say the busiest travel times in holiday weekends is between noon and midnight. If you plan on driving through the mountains, bring some warmer clothes and prepare for winter driving conditions While it's 80 degrees here in the Yakima-Tri-Cities area, some mountain roads still have snow on them. Also, bring some extra food and water in case you get stuck in traffic. And if you're driving out to the westside, Chinook Pass is now open, so you'll have another way to get over there besides I-90.
