WASHINGTON.,--Troopers say there's lots of drivers on the highway this holiday weekend.
Washington State Patrol say people should be extra careful this Monday when the volume on the roads is expected to peak.
There have been reports of congestion in various spots along I-90. Troopers say accidents become more likely as volume increases.
"With increased traffic volume, obviously it increases your likelihood of having more collisions and more serious collisions with the volume that we see," said Trooper Dave Wilbur.
With many people having already left the area yesterday, traffic is expected to decrease today and tomorrow.
A reminder to motorists that local and state police will be beefing up patrols throughout the holiday weekend.
They're also enforcing the Click-It-or-Ticket campaign: encouraging drivers to wear their seatbelts.
