Memorial Day Weekend is Over...and the Construction Begins

Posted: Updated:

Yakima, WA - Starting Monday from 6 AM until 6 PM, traffic will be cut down to one lane on I-82 as you come through Yakima.  They're going to be moving construction vehicles through as they repair the guardrail.  I-82 will be busy all week long as that construction goes through Friday.  Tuesday through Friday, from 9 PM until 5 AM, the Nob Hill and SR 24 exit, that's exit 34, will be closed for off ramp construction.  That traffic will be detoured to the Valley Mall Boulevard exit. On SR 24, through Friday from 6 AM until 6 PM, flaggers will be stopping traffic from time to time, to allow construction vehicles to get through.  The Department of Transportation says to expect delays if you take that in the morning as you go to work.  And finally, the long running construction at US-12 and 40th avenue will be completed Wednesday.  The DOT says to expect some delays as they figure out the new signal timing, but no more orange cones at one of the busiest interchanges in town.
