ELLENSBURG, Wash -- The Children's Activity Museum has been a part of Ellensburg for almost 20 years. But financial difficulties threaten its future.
Every day, almost one hundred kids come to learn and play. But the cost of maintaining its old building is putting a huge strain on the museum's small budget. The museum was faced with a choice: close or sell their old historic building.
The museum chose to sell, and plans to move to a new facility. One that is easier to heat and doesn't need to be brought up to modern building code.
The money from the sale should be enough to buy a new building, and cover any outstanding bills.
The museum hopes to stay downtown, but finding a location large enough and that doesn't need to be renovated could be difficult.
