Two Separate River Rescues on Yakima River

YAKIMA, Wash. - Emergency crews were called out to a overturned boat on the Yakima River near Harlan Landing at about 8:50pm, Monday evening.

Three adult males were located after falling out of the boat, none of the men were injured in the accident.  Their 16 foot boat was not recovered.

At about 10:30pm, Kittitas County Sheriff's Marine Unite was later called near Rosa Dam after reports of another boating accident.  Two men were found clinging to rocks and their disabled boat found 2 miles north of Rosa Dam.

Both men were rescued uninjured and their boat recovered. 

It was reported that high waters on the Yakima River as the cause of the accidents.

Boaters are reminded to wear life jackets and to carry emergency signaling devices such as whistles, orange flag, or flares.
