2nd Harvest Tri-Cities is Aiming to Set Guinness World Record.
KENNEWICK, Wash. - 2nd Harvest Tri-Cities is aiming at setting a new Guinness World Record to see how fast they can fill a truck full of food donations.
Second harvest will have the truck outside the Columbia Center Mall in Kennewick on June 8th. The exact category for the record hasn't been decided yet but Guinness World Records have approved the project.
It's part of the closing ceremonies for the Castruction competition and 2nd Harvest representatives say they'll need everyone's help to get the job done.
"It's going to take you, every single one of you coming out. Grab those canned goods, non-perishable items. Bring them out and help us fill that truck at Columbia Center," said Ketra Stumpf, 2nd Harvest Administrative Assistant.
The truck doors open at 8:00 AM. and will close as soon as it's full.
2nd Harvest is hoping this will start a chain of record breaking food donations around the country.
The winners of the Canstruction competition sponsored by CH2M Hill Handford Group will be announced during the closing ceremony at 3:00 PM, June 8th.
