RICHLAND, Wash. - What started off as a trip to the hospital turned into a standoff with police.

Authorities were called to Kadlec Medical Center at 888 Swift Boulevard because workers said a man was out of control and throwing things in the emergency room Saturday afternoon.

The suspect, 21-year-old Ivan Tyshchuk and his 27-year-old wife, Elizabeth apparently fled the hospital before police arrived.

Police then went to their house located at 97 Cullum Avenue in Richland.  While police were there the wife allegedly locked herself in the house and refused to cooperate with police.

Her husband was wanted for a warrant.  Police said they found him hiding in a shed on the side of their home.

Benton County Deputies were called to the scene and brought a K-9 dog.

The woman was eventually arrested for obstruction of law enforcement.

Her husband was found in the backyard.  He was charged with harassment, obstructing a law enforcement officer, driving while license suspended and a local arrest warrant.
