Posted: Updated:

Yakima, WA - Police say the suspect who they shot at in self defense on Friday is now dead....he died in Memorial Hospital Sunday night.  Police still aren't releasing his name.  They say the man, who is around 30 year old, went by as many as 8 different aliases, so right now they can't put a positive ID on him.

He was shot in the head Friday afternoon by officer Sam Masters, a six year veteran of the Yakima Police Department.  Masters shot the man from behind, after police say he pulled out a gun as he was struggling with another officer.

Police found a 9mm handgun on the suspect, which they believe was used to kill Juan Ramos two weeks ago.  According to police, Ramos owed the suspect $15,000 for drugs, and had not paid him after two years.  Police believe the suspect is originally from Mexico and was here illegally. They say he has a history of criminal activity.
