Two Bodies Found in Burned-Out Apartment Building in Toppenish
TOPPENISH, Wash.- The fears of family and friends have been realized. Two bodies were found Monday night in a burned-out building in Toppenish.
The two bodies have not been identified. Sam Alverado say his grandpa, 59-year-old Art Torres, is one of the missing people in Sunday's fire. He stood by with close to one hundred people who were outside the entire day waiting for their worst fears to become reality.
Emotions ran high, and friends of the family were their for support. Friends and family of 41-year- old Tawni Wright say she lived in the burned down apartment building and hasn't been seen since Sunday's fire.
Authorities say at least one more person could still be unaccounted for. The two bodies were found just after nine o'clock Monday night. A cadaver sniffing dog was brought in to help out with the search. Authoirites say crews will be back on the scene early Tuesday morning.
