YAKIMA, Wash - A normal sized crowd came out to the Greenway on a nice Wednesday evening. Most people said they had no idea two bodies had been found in the area a day before.
On Tuesday morning Yakima Police found 53 year old Vance Zinc, a homeless man. Officials later determined the death to be a homicide. Another body was also found the same day. The Yakima County Coroners Office says they have not been able to identify the body yet. They believe it is a man who went missing in September of 2004. They say the cause of death appears to be suicide.
People who came out to the Greenway Wednesday night say these incidents won't stop them from coming.
"As long as i know where my kids are at all times and where I am at all times I think I will be okay," says Luciana Dalton of Yakima.
"I'll still come during the daylight when there is still lots of people around," explains Sandra Roller of Moxee.
Robert Brown has lived in Yakima his whole life and is shocked something like this happened.
"Now they're finding bodies here on the Greenway, that's too bad, that's too bad."
Police will continue their investigation on the homicide and the Coroners Office is still trying to identify the second body.
