Car Dealership Break-ins in Kennewick

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Thieves steal from two car dealerships and try to break into a third. Now, Kennewick police are asking for your help to find the suspects.

Between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, police say thieves stole a car from one dealership and stereo equipment from another. Angel's Auto Sales on Columbia Drive lost a 1998 Chevy Silverado as thieves allegedly broke the front door, stole some keys, and drove off.

Angel's Ignacio Hernandez says this has never happened at his dealership before and he hopes the suspects face justice soon. He said that it is frustrating to see someone try and get in the way of his business' success.

Hernandez says, "It's not a good feeling. I mean someone coming in and breaking into your house and stealing your stuff. You work hard and for someone to come in and steal things, it is not a good feeling."

Police say that next to Angel's, Auto Star Auto Sales had it's show room broken into and thieves stole stereo equipment out of a Mitsubishi Eclipse. Down the street, Grandstand Auto Sales was only saved by its alarm. Car dealers in the area say unfortunately there are waves of thefts every few months.

If you have any information on the alleged thefts, you are asked to call Kennewick Police.
