Sister's Wedding or Ball Game? Garth has to Choose
KENNEWICK, Wash. - After knocking off division rival spokane, the Fever have another big test Saturday, when they host Central Valley. The Coyotes are tied with the Fever for second place. Star player Robert Garth, a.k.a. Superman, has a big decision to make. His sister is getting married at the exact same time Saturday night in Seattle. He has to either go to the wedding, or go to the game.
"He doesn't know yet," said Coach Tony Wells. "He wants to stay. He's talking to his family to see if he can come in Friday and give her away at the banquet ,or something, and then come back and play, because this is his career. This is his bread and butter."
"This is a hard decision," said Garth. "It's real tough, because we're in the midst of things right now. We're trying to get some wins under our belt, trying to get the division locked up, and then you got family, and family is always first. But when you play football, and you love it as much as I love it, it makes the decision a little bit harder."
Garth had 2.5 sacks in Saturday's win over Spokane, and also caught two passes for 13 yards.
