Kennewick, wash. -- Fire departments across the Tri-Cities are participating in the national Safety Stand Down Week. This year's theme is "Ready to Respond" and firefighter's across the Tri-Cities so they can be better ready for all situations.
Firefighters say this week's death of nine firefighters in South Carolina is not only a tragic but a good reminder to brush up on safety. They say while training both physically and physiologically they will focus on the Charleston case.
Kennewick, Richland, and Benton County say they are cancelling all commitments, besides emergency calls, to do an all day training session tomorrow. Pasco Fire says they practice safety all year long and do not don't have the resources to commit to an all-day training session.
