A House Fire in Burbank Causes Major Problems for Firefighters.
BURBANK, Wa. - Firefighters continue to search for the cause of a house fire in Burbank overnight.
The fire started late last night around 11:00 P.M. just off Ice Harbor Drive.
When firefighters arrived they found the house fully engulfed in flames, shooting ten to fifteen feet above the home.
The fire melted a live power line connected to the home causing big problems for firefighters.
And the roof was unstable preventing firefighters to enter the home.
"It caused fire crews problems trying to make entry because once the fire breaks through the roof, we have danger of roof collapse," says Dan Gayda with the Walla Walla Fire Department District #5.
The property owners weren't home at the time of the fire. It took emergency dispatchers and the Walla Walla County Sheriff's office several hours to contact the family. They arrived this morning to find their home completely destroyed.
