Summer Driving Warnings

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Many people are going to hit the road for upcoming weekend getaways, but before you pack the car and get the kids ready, Washington State troopers have a warning for you.

They say a lot of people will be driving through the area and want people to slow down on area roads. They say there's been lots of speeders and lots of volume and that sometimes summertime drivers are more concerned about their destination rather than the road in front of them.

Trooper Grant Davis says, "We're asking everybody to be aware of the posted speed limit, following distance and all that stuff. We want everybody to get where they're going this summer without incident. "

There's been a number of accidents the last few days. Troopers say they sometimes see an increase in accidents when the weather gets nicer.
