Stolen bridal dresses recovered just hours before wedding
YAKIMA, Wash -- Several stolen bridesmaid's dresses are returned to the bride just hours before her wedding.
Thursday night, a thief broke into a mini-van in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Yakima and stole three bridesmaid's dresses and a cell phone from Chelsea Richardson. Richardson spent time sending text messages to the cell phone, pleading for the dresses to be returned.
"I didn't care about anything else that was taken," said Richardson, "I just wanted the dresses back."
Friday night, KNDO-TV aired her story during its newscast. Saturday morning, KNDO-TV received a call from the Union Gap Police -- the dresses had been dropped off there during the night.
"I am so excited. This is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me," said Richardson. "This is going to save everything. This will make everything perfect - back to the was it was before."
A woman dropped the dresses and cell phone off, but not the stolen wallets. Knowing that Richardson just wanted the dress back, police did not request ask the woman her name.
Fortunately for Richardson, the officer on duty had watched KNDO Local News the night before and knew how the dresses belonged to.
