AAA predicts over 41 million Americans will become holiday travelers during the upcoming Fourth of July week. With many people on the road KNDU has some tips you should consider before start your trip.
Before you get behind the wheel this holiday, car care experts recommend you open the door, and take ten minutes to confirm everything is working properly.
Start with your tires, make sure they have enough air, and check for uneven tread wear.
Next pop the hood, and go over your fluids. Confirm you have enough washer fluid, antifreeze, engine oil, power steering, and brake & transmission fluids. If you don't know where they are you can look it up in your owner's manual.
And finally, roll up your sleeves and check your hoses and belts. A belt that brakes could cause major problems for your engine. Experts recommend look for dryness and cracking.
AAA said if you go over this checklist with your car, you'll reduce your chances for breaking down on the side of the road.
