Fever's Narrow Wins and Losses: Who's to Blame?

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash - The Tri-Cities Fever are 6-5 on the season, but just barely.  Their roller coaster season seems to just have one consistent aspect:  games decided by just a few points.

The five games the Fever have lost have been decided by 11 or fewer points.  Of the 6 games they've won, 4 have been decided by 9 or fewer points.  Fever Head Coach Tony Wells says the players aren't the ones to blame because they're not the ones deciding how they're going to get 6 points.  Instead, Wells and his coaching staff take the brunt of the losses on their shoulders.

"We're the ones calling the plays," says Coach Wells.  "Like that onsides kick against Central Valley, we should've had a guy in the middle, that's our call we should've made.  That's our fault as a coaching staff."

The Fever coaches have another chance to "redeem" themselves this Saturday when Tri-Cities heads to Boise.  Saturday's game is at 6, highlights here on KNDO and KNDU at 11.
