Judge Sentences Murderer to Consecutive Life Sentences

Yakima, WA -   A lower valley man will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Richard Rangel was convicted of second degree murder and first degree assault and was given a double life sentence with no chance of parole.

Rangel entered an "Alford" guilty plea, which means he is not admitting guilt, but accepts the judge's verdict.

The judge in the case says Rangel stabbed Kevin Underwood to death in Grandview on April 27th of last year, and then assaulted his ex-girlfriend Anne Ferson with a knife.

Rangel had two prior robbery convictions, so this was his third strike.
