Extradition for Tri-Cities Man could be a Lengthy Process

HONG KONG.,--According to First Assistant United States Attorney, Tom Rice, international affairs, like with Kenneth John Freeman, are very time consuming.  There is also the matter of jurisdiction that could prolong this case.

44-year-old Kenneth John Freeman is accused of raping his daughter and putting the video on the internet. Freeman appeared in a Hong Kong courtroom today but didn't say anything. His extradition back to the United States could last into next year.

"Extradition takes a matter of months and sometimes well over a year for it to conclude, so it has to go through diplomatic channels and that process can be quite lengthy sometimes," said Rice.

Freeman has indicated that he will fight extradition. His next hearing is scheduled in Hong Kong on July 19th.
