Friends Of Victims In A Deadly Fire React To News That The Fire Was Arson
Yakima, WA - Fire investigators are now calling a deadly apartment fire in Yakima arson.
Several close friends of the two people who died in the fire say they are upset and angry, but suspected arson was the cause from the beginning.
The early morning fire happened four days ago at 403 and a half South Fourth Street.
The county coroner says Christina Cheney and Chris Bolton died from smoke inhalation in their apartment.
"I can't believe how someone could just do this to him or even to Chrissy, says Shellie Pettit, a longtime friend of Bolton's, "They didn't deserve this. And I want to know who did it? I want to know why? I want to know who killed my friends."
"I'm extremely angry," says Mickeal Ray, another longtime friend of Bolton's, "You know I don' t sleep at night. My wife don't sleep. Just can't get much sleep lately."
Signs have been posted offering a $10,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest.
Fire investigators aren't saying why or what could've caused the arson fire. They also haven't confirmed whether they believe the fire started in a van owned by Bolton and Cheney, or at the apartment complex.
